The Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in UI and UX Product Design is a 4-year undergraduate degree program that focuses on teaching students how to create digital products that are intuitive, efficient, and visually appealing for users. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics related to UI and UX design, including design principles, user research, information architecture, prototyping, usability testing, and interaction design. Students will learn how to develop user-centered designs that meet the needs of target audiences while also considering business goals and technical constraints.

Design principles such as color theory, typography, and layout are covered in the coursework, which also includes practical training in software tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, and Figma. In addition, students learn design thinking, which is an iterative approach to problem-solving that involves empathizing with users, defining the problem, ideating solutions, prototyping, and testing.

User research is an essential component of UI and UX design, and students learn how to conduct user research using methods such as surveys, interviews, and usability testing. This knowledge is critical in creating user-centered designs that meet the needs of target audiences.

Information architecture is the process of organizing and structuring information in a way that is easy to navigate and understand. Students learn how to create site maps, wireframes, and prototypes that help to visualize the user experience.

Interaction design is the process of creating engaging and intuitive user interfaces. Students learn how to design interfaces that are both visually appealing and easy to use, with a focus on creating clear and simple navigation systems. This includes learning how to design for different devices, such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.

The program also includes internships and design projects that provide students with real-world experience in UI and UX design. Students work with industry professionals to create digital products that meet the needs of clients and users. This experience helps students build a portfolio of work that can be used to demonstrate their skills to potential employers.
