The Department is well equipped with highly qualified teaching and non teaching staff. Well organised huge agriculture farm with setup of different agricultural practices such as horticulture, agronomy, silviculture, animal husbandry, fish farming, mushroom cultivation etc provides field exposure to the students. Polyhouse, orchards of litchi, mango and big teak plantation etc. within and outside campus premises accompanying with advanced laboratories and hi-tech classrooms are strength of the department.

The career opportunities are available in public as well as in private sectors. For the private sector, a degree in agriculture gives you the knowledge and skills to either manage agricultural businesses or work in the areas of agricultural sales, food production, and farming journalism. In the government sector, a graduate of agricultural science can be appointed as a research officer, quality assurance officer, agriculture officer, agriculture loan officer (in banks).
